Has overall volcanic activity been decreasing in recent decades?

According to the Smithsonian Institution there are no discernible trends in volcanic activity, just periods of higher and lower activity as would be expected. Reference: https://volcano.si.edu/faq/index.cfm?question=historicalactivity

Is there and interactive site to demonstrate the impact of rising sea levels? [Alan]

There are, actually several:

These allow the operator to adjust ocean level –

From the Leonardo DiCaprio movie “Before the Food, this allows the operator to adjust temperature and view the sea level impact:

Medford Water Quality – “What about pigtails?”

The recent concern for the quality of water delivered by Medford Water Commission (MWC) had to do with occasional lead levels exceeding EPA standards. Most of the high lead levels were found in the downtown core area.  The primary source of MWC water is Big Butte Springs which did not violate lead standards.

It is not unusual to find lead leaching out of old pipes and lead solder joints. One specific source was found to be “Pigtails” which were used to connect the pipe in the street to the line leading into the house.  The last I heard those pigtails were being located and systematically replaced.
