SOCAN’s Master Climate protector course is open to the public. Individuals sign up for a 10-week course (3 hours per week) that explores climate change science and the impacts on key sectors of energy, transportation, agriculture, water and others. Within each sector is a focus on global and local impacts, personal and collective mitigating actions and measurements on how to reduce your greenhouse gas footprint.
The registration fee is $100. Scholarships to help defray registration costs are available. Please visit our Scholarship page for more information. Particular consideration will be given to teachers and students of all levels.
Expectations
Participants are expected to attend all sessions, complete the Greenhouse Gas Footprint Calculator, and are encouraged to complete the service component (20 hours) by the end of the year of graduation to become Certified Master Climate Protectors.
